King of the early - early ripening and large tomato

Among gardeners, there are many supporters of growing large tomatoes. It upsets them that most of these tomatoes are medium or late ripening varieties. A pleasant exception to this rule for fans is the King of the Early Tomatoes, which appeared on the market not very long ago, but already beloved by vegetable growers.

From the history of the appearance of the early King

"The king of the early was bred by Siberian breeders," they write on many sites on the network. Sometimes the author is called the "Siberian Garden" company, or they say that the tomato is of amateur selection. The seeds of the Early King can now be purchased from different companies: Aelita, Altai Seeds, AgroVest, Successful Harvest and others.

Tomato seeds King early are sold by different agricultural firms

The variety is initially adapted to difficult climatic conditions. It is successfully grown in areas with short summers in the more southern regions, in sheltered film shelters - in the middle lane, and even further north - in greenhouses.

The network also disseminated information that in 2005 this new variety of tomatoes was registered, however, on the website of the State Commission for Testing and Protection of Breeding Achievements, it is not possible to find such a variety when searching through the register of approved ones.

On the website of the State Commission for Testing and Protection of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, there is no tomato variety King of the Early

We will assume that the King of the Early Tomatoes is a fairly new variety of this vegetable, and when describing it, proceed from the information available on the network, not losing sight of the fact that a significant part of it is not only informational, but also advertising.

Royal portrait

The king of the early is really one of the early ripening tomatoes, because the fruits at the stage of their technical ripeness can be removed within 80–90 days after the emergence of mass shoots of seeds sown to obtain seedlings. A rather powerful determinant standard plant with strong branches grows short: usually the King of the Early reaches a height of 0.5–0.7 m. The flower of these tomatoes has both male and female organs. In normal weather conditions, it does not need insect pollination.

The shape of the fruits of these tomatoes, collected in bunches of 5-6 pieces, is round and slightly flattened. Their color becomes bright red when ripe. The fleshy pulp of tomatoes allows them to be used not only fresh, but also to prepare very high-quality ketchups and sauces from them. Tomatoes are covered with a dense skin, which ensures the safety of the fruit during storage and transportation.

Tomato King early - early ripening and large enough

Fruits gain weight on average by 300 g, in the lower clusters some specimens can reach 400–500 g, and in the upper ones, on the contrary, 150–250 g. One bush of these tomatoes can give about 4 kg of harvest, that is, up to 12–15 kg from 1 m2, if we take into account the planting density of this variety, given in the article later in the text, and the decrease in yield from one bush when it increases.

One tomato bush King of the early can produce up to 4 kg of tomatoes

The king of the early has excellent immunity, therefore, subject to agricultural technology (which is especially emphasized in all descriptions), plants perfectly resist viruses and infections. Although, according to gardeners, sometimes it is affected by late blight. As a preventive measure, the earliest possible harvest is recommended.

Tips for growing an early King

The ripening period of King early tomatoes largely depends on the weather conditions of a particular season and may slightly deviate from the above. To a lesser extent, the yield depends on the quality of care and adherence to agricultural practices.

When the seedlings of the Early King reach the age of 60-65 days, they are planted in a permanent place:

  • to the garden - in May;
  • to the greenhouse - in the last decade of April.

Planting density of seedlings - 3 to 6 plants per 1 m2 (45–70 cm - distance in a row, 60–100 cm - row spacing). An increased planting density requires an increase in the frequency of watering and feeding, as well as pinching the plants.

Caring for plants of the early King includes, if necessary, pinching

Tomato reacts sharply to violations of the irrigation and feeding regime, insufficient access of air to the roots and light to the plants in general. With these violations of agricultural technology, he can easily be affected by various diseases characteristic of nightshades. To prevent them, it is recommended to follow the schedule of preventive treatments and top dressing in terms and in the amounts recommended for tomatoes.

Although the skin of the King of the Early Tomatoes is quite dense, it can burst if there is insufficient watering near the stalk or when the fruits are overripe, so the tomatoes must be harvested on time.

Agrotechnical activities:

  • abundant watering in the evening at the root:
    • before flowering - once a week;

      Proper watering of tomatoes is carried out in the evening under the root of the plant, watered abundantly

    • after the formation of ovaries - 2-3 times a week;
  • top dressing every 14 days after placement in the garden:
    • the first time - with a solution of mullein (1:10) or bird droppings (1:20);
    • further - with a solution of 60 g of nitrophoska in a bucket of water;
  • weeding and loosening of the earth - 3 times per season or mulching with a layer of organic matter (cut grass, hay, peat, sawdust);
  • forming and tying bushes:
    • the already mentioned pinching;
    • removal of part of the leaves under the ripe lower brushes;

      Trimming the leaves under the ripe lower brushes of tomatoes is carried out to increase productivity - so that the plant spends energy and nutrients only on the ovaries and fruits

    • rationing of ovaries on poorly developing bushes;
    • tying up branches overloaded with fruits.

In the open field with poor formation of ovaries during rainy weather, and in the greenhouse - with significant cold weather, it is recommended to shake the flowering branches of plants every 3-4 days for better pollination.

It should not be forgotten that the King of the Early is a variety, not a hybrid; it conveys all the qualities of the parent plant with the seeds. Therefore, gardeners have the opportunity to independently harvest seeds for growing the King of the early in the next season.

Reviews of King's early cultivation practitioners

As can be concluded from the descriptions of the tomato variety King of the Early, presented on the network, simple care of plants, a bountiful harvest, excellent taste of fruits ripening in the early stages - these are the features of the variety that made it especially popular with many gardeners. However, the final conclusion can be made only after gaining our own experience in growing these tomatoes.

Description of the early King tomato, cultivation features and temperature regime

Tomato King of the Early is a variety intended for cultivation in the northern and Siberian regions of the Russian Federation. Initially, the early King tomatoes were adapted only for southern regions, such as the Astrakhan region. Later, according to the results of selection, the variety was adapted for regions with a more severe climate, including Siberia. However, the harsh Siberian climate requires the presence of a greenhouse: on the open ground, the King of the Early will grow only in the south or in the middle zone of the Russian Federation.

General information

On the market of varieties, packages with seeds called "King of Giants" can be found from several companies:

  1. ST "Agros" Siberian seeds
  2. Siberian garden
  3. GL Seeds
  4. "Uralsky Dachnik"
  5. TM "Harvest".

None of these packers give out information about the originator and the author, and it is not known what was packed. At the same time, the "Siberian Garden" claims that the seeds are of Siberian selection, and the TM "Urozhay" is Ukrainian. As a result, vegetable growers share their information and have different opinions.

You need to get used to this variety. 1st year I did not work out with him. On the other, she led in 1 stalk, watered and fertilized well and got decent fruits of 300 grams each. I picked them first, this is really an early variety, ripe tomatoes appeared at the end of July.
For our region, this is a good indicator, but the greenhouse had to be closed at night, opened during the day, loosened the soil, and watered a little every other day. While you live in the country, you can do this. Make an effort. I liked the bush because it was short, very strong, but it had to be tied up. I removed the upper flowers.

I am not happy with this variety. This is an early tomato that ripens 2 weeks earlier than the others, but it is very moody! He needs abundant nutrition, watering and loosening. Weather conditions are also poorly tolerated. It especially does not tolerate temperature changes and the heat of the greenhouse. I wanted to get an early harvest, so I planted some bushes in the greenhouse and in the open ground under the arches.
I got the harvest at the same time, without a difference: what's in the greenhouse, what's in the garden under the spunbond, after 95 days. The bush grew 70 cm, but there are a lot of stepchildren! The foliage is also full. I had to cut off the leaves and stepchildren at least once a week. The bush takes up a lot of space, the greenhouse is already cramped. Planted in a checkerboard pattern at a distance of 70 cm! I tied the bush to pegs to make it easier to care for.
There are not enough tomatoes. A pair is the largest at the bottom and a couple at the top. The flowers were sterilized from the heat, no fruit set. In the open field, the flowers fell off, I still did not understand the reason. Care was carried out standard: watering, fertilizing, loosening. I didn’t like the tomatoes themselves: they were firm, as if from a store. The skin is tough, the chambers are large.

We have been growing tomatoes for several years in a row. They built a small greenhouse and brought black soil into it. I start growing seedlings in February. I keep the boxes with it under fluorescent lamps and keep the temperature in the greenhouse at least 25 degrees. I buy seeds in a trusted online store, but before planting the seeds I stand overnight in a growth stimulator. I plant plants with 3-4 leaves in specially prepared beds. First, we introduce humus into the soil, mixed with sand in equal parts. After planting, water thoroughly and then leave without watering for 4-5 days. Usually all seedlings take root. We put pegs along the rows and pull the cord. We tie up all the bushes - it's easier to harvest.
Top dressing during the season is done 2 times, we take mineral fertilizers, pour it at the root. Bushes - low, up to 80 cm. Tomatoes begin to ripen after 2 months. 1st collection - the largest, weighing up to 350 grams. The usual size is 200-250 grams, smooth, fleshy, the skin is not thick. The tomato is dense, well transported over long distances. We actively sell tomatoes of this variety for May. In general, the harvest per season is 10-12 kg per bush.

I bought the first seeds in the store, and in subsequent years I collected and dried myself. Those that I collect myself, I usually check for germination by immersing them in salted water. Then I carry out disinfection by immersing them in potassium permanganate. After each procedure, the seeds should be thoroughly rinsed with running water. I plant seeds on seedlings in mid-March, when they get a little stronger, I dive into separate pots. I make pots from plastic bottles. In mid-May, I transplant the tomatoes into open ground, but first I harden the seedlings for a week, exposing them to the sun.
After disembarking, I constantly monitor the temperature. If frosts are expected, then cover the bed with a film - we pull it on pegs along the edges of the bed. The distance between the bushes is 50-70 cm, between the rows - 70-80 cm. The bushes should be tied up from the moment of strengthening and growth. The ovary should not lie on the ground - it is affected by slugs. It is also required to take a stepchild so that the tomatoes do not grow, but begin to ripen.
As they ripen, you need to pick the tomatoes - overripe ones crack right on the bushes. Juicy, fleshy and tasty - we use this variety both for salads and for preparing juice for the winter.

I have long wanted to plant on the site just such tomatoes as "King of the Early". Because the variety is large-fruited at the same time, early ripening - the combination is quite rare. Summer in our Volgograd region begins in mid-May, lasts until October, so the climate is favorable. The first ripe tomatoes can be picked within 2.5 months after seed germination, and not after the traditional 3-4.
The bushes of this variety are strong, downright stumpy, with thick straight stems, so they hardly need support, except if some unimaginable amount of fruit is tied. You do not need to worry about pollination and monitor whether there are flying insects on the site or not. Since the flowers are bisexual, and in this regard they do without outside help.
Tomatoes ripen unevenly in size. Those that are tied on the lower branches are huge - 300-400 grams. Those on the top are never heavier than 100-150 grams. This is not bad - the "top" tomatoes are used as a whole, the lower ones - for salads, ketchups, adjika. It is better to plant bushes away from each other, because if they grow back to back, they can start to get sick with fungal diseases.

Reviews of the tomato King of the early

Elena, Luga

Raised two years in a row by the King of the Early. In fact, it is an early and very productive tomato, but I will definitely add that sores stick to it. Although it gives off early crops and yet most of the fruits are quite healthy. I sow tomatoes on March 5, I grow in one stem. They grow in my greenhouse and in the beds, they are good everywhere. The height in the ground is 60 cm, in the greenhouse it was somewhere up to 80 cm.

Vladimir, Vologda

The King planted variety early because of the timing, hoping for an early harvest. What can I say - an unusual tomato, large and very tasty tomatoes, shot them green and ripe at home. I tried to grow it in the beds, I think that a good harvest in our climate should be in a greenhouse.

From the early ones, mostly medium-fruited ones grow from me, the taste is not for everybody, there is a lot of sourness. This, of course, depends on the weather, and our summers can be quite cool. So the King of the early ones pleasantly pleased with the sweet taste and large size.

Galina, Vladimir

I tried to grow this tomato in the garden, it is tasty and not bad in terms of yield. But he was one of the first for me to get sick with late blight, I had to clean everything up. Although the neighbor also has the same variety, some of the tomatoes were sick, and these bushes were healthy. Therefore, I cannot yet say what is more, good or bad, with the King of the Early, I will still check and watch.

Unpretentious varieties of early varieties of tomatoes

The peculiarities of each variety of early varieties of tomatoes are that the plant will ripen on the bush within 100 days after sowing. This is an undeniable advantage in growing tomatoes.

Breeders are aware of this important quality and are trying to breed just such tomatoes. New varieties appear on store shelves every season. The variety of tomato seeds can be confusing.

It is required to help the novice gardener decide on the choice of the type.

Early types of tomatoes for greenhouses

Residents of Ukraine can easily do without film shelters, and summer residents from the northern regions can only envy this. They rarely plant tomatoes without a greenhouse.

This growing method increases yields and protects tomatoes from harsh weather conditions.

Early varieties are planted in closed areas, the tomato does not overheat, because the plants are created specifically for growing at high temperatures.

Early maturing greenhouse species:

  1. Superstar tomatoes. Growing tomatoes does not require any special skill. The plant is planted under a film or in a greenhouse and the harvest is obtained in 85-90 days. Scarlet juicy fruits are suitable for salads, they do not need to be heat treated.Tomatoes for greenhouses necessarily require pinching, and the height of the bush will be about 140 cm.
  2. "Meal". An interesting representative of early tomatoes, growing up to almost 2 m in height. If you decide to do without a garter, then this tomato is not for you. Red even fruit is everywhere, tomatoes stick around the trunk, leaving no free space. The seedlings are so massive that gardeners keep them in small buckets. Each fruit weighs 20 g and tolerates salting well. Fresh vegetables keep well.
  3. Tomato "Siberian Abundant". It feels comfortable under the covering material. Despite the fact that the plant has a height of 170 cm, the formation takes place in several trunks. Not all varieties of tomatoes for greenhouses can boast of having 5-6 stepchildren who bear fruit successfully. Your harvest will be judged in buckets. With good care, you can get up to 5 kg of tomatoes from each bush. Large vegetable, tied with tassels.
  4. Tomato "King of the Early". A modern look that housewives like for their productivity. Red oval vegetables, as in the photo from the package, will be on your table. Large tomatoes grow on bushes only 50-70 cm tall, but require a garter. Tomato "King of the Early" is massive, the weight of the fruit reaches 300 g, while the giants are good for canning, there is almost no water in them.

There are farmers who prefer to cover all their seedlings. This approach is incorrect, because there are tomatoes bred specifically for growing in a greenhouse. Greenhouse tomato varieties are indispensable for some agricultural areas. By planting a crop under the film, you will be left with the harvest.

The best varieties of tomatoes (video)

Early ripening tomatoes for open ground

In the southern regions, plants should not be planted under film in the summer. Tomatoes do great if they don't overheat. Good ventilation promotes pollination.

Breeders have developed early varieties of tomatoes for outdoor use. They are resistant to disease, so vegetables can be grown even after the fall season begins.

The description of each species contains a list of diseases to which the culture is immune.

Outdoor tomatoes include the following varieties:

  1. Tomato "Siberian early ripening". It was developed more than 50 years ago, but it is still relevant. Large round red fruits weigh 50-100 g. The high content of dry matter makes this species excellent for making pastes, ketchups, mashed potatoes. Even a novice summer resident can cope with growing a tomato, it is worth reading the reviews of farmers to be sure of this. A low bush of 40-90 cm does not require registration and does not get sick.
  2. Tomato "Schelkovsky early". He will present bunches of delicious juicy tomatoes. The bush is low, only 30-40 cm. In the photo, the fruits look disproportionately large. Their weight is 50 g. Tomatoes are slightly sour to taste. Super early tomatoes can be harvested 90-100 days after planting. The variety is not a hybrid, so seeds can be harvested from it.
  3. Gina. A good option for residents of different regions. The characteristics make it possible to grow the plant in Ukraine and in the Krasnodar Territory, in the Moscow region and in Voronezh. Like many varieties of early crops, tomato is not susceptible to late blight. The height will not be more than 100 cm, and the average weight of the fruit, as the reviews say, is 200 g. To increase the yield, plant several roots in one hole. The bushes are partially stepson, leaving stronger shoots.

Polycarbonate greenhouses take up a lot of space and are expensive. If you do not have the opportunity to install a greenhouse on the site, buy seeds of species that are suitable for open ground. Without a greenhouse, the early varieties will have time to ripen, the tomato will not be unexpectedly covered with mold and will not turn black.

Early varieties of tomatoes with pink fruits

No one can be surprised by the unusual color of vegetables. Pink tomatoes are sold in stores, and amateurs appear who only buy them. It is not difficult to grow tomatoes of an unusual color.

Their seeds do not differ in price from the red varieties. Every summer resident can grow a vegetable on the site. Special care for tomatoes is not required.

The earliest varieties of pink tomatoes are capable of bearing fruit in mid-summer.

Tomatoes with pink fruits:

  1. Tomato "Siberian Heavyweight". Another interesting combination of short stature and large fruit size. One of the most fruitful and delicious varieties of tomatoes. Giant fruits weigh up to 500 g, pink in color. The plant will not be taller than 50 cm, which is an advantage. A good harvest is achieved by partial pinching. The seeds are tough-like, so they should be soaked before planting on seedlings.
  2. Tomato "Ural Giant Pink". Early ripening does not affect the size of the fruit. Their mass reaches 800 g. One sweet tomato is enough to cut a salad for several people. A stalk garter is required, otherwise it bends under the weight of the tomatoes. If you estimate the yield in buckets, you will not have enough containers.

Among these types there are varieties of tomatoes for greenhouses and open ground. You should think about what the conditions are in the country. Planting pink tomatoes is no more difficult than planting red ones. The seedling method is used with a mandatory pick.

Low-growing varieties of tomatoes (video)

Ultra early cherry tomatoes

The record holder for the speed of ripening is the tomato on a twig. Ultra-early varieties will ripen in 60-80 days. Seedlings are not always required for planting them. The seeds are placed directly into the soil, which gives good results. In winter, the culture is kept on the windowsill in buckets, and in summer it is taken out into the street or on an open balcony.

Almost all varieties of branch tomatoes are good examples of early crops. "Golden Bead", "Cherry", "Pinocchio", "Ladies Fingers" ripen in 90 days or less.

Many varieties are so fond of gardeners that breeders have bred pink, yellow and black counterparts. A common feature in all crops is the size of the fruit. The weight of a tomato does not exceed 20 g.

The description of each species is different from each other. There are both tall bushes and dwarf ones.

Gardeners' reviews indicate that children like small tomatoes. They enjoy eating them in salads. For salting, this is also an excellent variety, the tomato in the jar looks neat. Small fruits, as if selected by size, will make the canning process more fun.

Early varieties are suitable for any purpose, tomatoes are pleasant to eat fresh, canned foods delight all winter.

After reading the detailed description, the summer resident will be able to decide on the purchase of tomato seeds in the store. All early ripening tomatoes are good, but growing conditions must be matched.

Each farmer must determine the best varieties for a garden plot for himself.
