Proper cultivation of black garlic at home

On the shelves of grocery stores, where canned food is presented, as well as in catering establishments, many drew attention to the presence of such a product as black garlic. Immediately I wanted to know more about what it is and how it is grown. And then a real surprise has already come: it turns out that this product is not grown in this form, but is obtained from ordinary garlic.

Description and characteristics of black garlic

The unusual garlic, which attracts attention to itself, does not grow at all in the beds in this form. It is obtained from any common variety. by fermentation... Such a product is not only devoid of the usual bright smell, but also has a sweet taste. In general, it looks more like dried fruit than garlic.

In order for the product to acquire an unusual appearance, it is kept at high temperatures for a couple of months. The sugar and amino acids it contains contribute to the characteristic black color.

You can get it yourself, but this will take a lot of time and the observance of certain conditions. The most problematic of them is that during two months it is necessary to maintain a constant temperature equal to 60 degrees.

The oven provides such an opportunity, but hardly anyone will be able to keep it constantly turned on for two months.

Used effectively in Korea four thousand years ago. It received due attention in Thailand as well. He was awarded the title of a real gift of God, whose vocation is - bring people health and longevity.

It is quite simple to grow in your summer cottage. You can plant it in the spring, but also in the fall. Although summer residents do it mainly in the spring, using material for these purposes that they did not use during the winter. To provide yourself with a crop, you only need to plant a few heads.

Little space is needed for this, in addition, for planting garlic, you can use the beds occupied by other compatible crops. As it grows, it will help fight pests, and by the middle of summer you can harvest a good harvest of your own garlic.

The benefits and harms of black garlic for the body

Now it is already very widely used not only in cooking, but also in dietary nutrition, alternative medicine. The product has beneficial effect on the circulatory system, in particular:

  • helps to normalize blood pressure;
  • stabilizes the work of the heart;
  • helps in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis;
  • increases the elasticity of blood vessels.

It also has a beneficial effect on digestion processes, helps in the prevention of obesity, and stabilizes the liver. The use of this product by people with diabetes mellitus is very good. It is explained by the fact that it is a real substitute for sugar of natural (natural) origin.

The use contributes to the rapid regeneration of cells, due to which the skin is rejuvenated and a tonic effect is achieved.

Vitamins and trace elements improve the body's immunity, but also help it fight inflammation and infections.

As for the harm that a vegetable can cause to the body, such cases have not yet been observed. The exception is those people who suffer individual intolerance of this product. It is also worth noting that certain studies are still underway in this direction and not all properties have been fully studied.

How to eat garlic correctly?

In everyday life, we rarely think about this question. But housewives constantly add garlic to their culinary masterpieces, not only for the sake of taste, but also for flavoring. Helps to activate the secretion of saliva and gastric juice, which has a beneficial effect on the digestive process.

In general, in order for the vegetable to retain its beneficial properties, it is not recommended to give it to prolonged heat treatment. The same cannot be said for black garlic. As it has been established by scientific research, this product not only retains all the useful substances, but also increases their amount.

The dish is completely ready to eat as soon as you open the can. You can also use it in cooking. It will go well with meat, fish or vegetable dishes.

It will seem strange to many, but all over the world chefs use for making sauces or compound oils... It is added to energy drinks and used in the production of dark chocolate... By the way, ordinary garlic with chocolate is incompatible at all.

It contains natural antioxidants. If it sprouts, then the amount of these substances increases significantly. Therefore, there is no need to throw away the sprouted product.

They are used not only as an addition or seasoning, but also as an independent dish (for example, pickled). It is successfully used by chefs not only in our country, but also far abroad. By the way, this product was used for medical purposes much earlier than in cooking. With its help, they hoped to achieve immortality, prolong life, rejuvenate and get rid of serious illnesses.

There are no special restrictions on the amount of garlic consumed, but it is not recommended to be zealous with these people suffering from peptic ulcers, gastritis, hemorrhoids.

In this regard, black garlic is an exception, since it is devoid of natural pungency, which causes irritation of the mucous membrane.

As you can see, the vegetable has a lot of useful properties and does not harm our body at all. Of course, it is very difficult to make this product at home. But you can always grow ordinary garlic on your site, which has the same properties and a set of vitamins as the finished analogue. Taste qualities will differ significantly, and you can't really call it a delicacy, but you can eat it at any time. And it is available anywhere, at any time of the year.

    Many novice summer residents do not realize that the safety of the crop depends not only on the preparation of the crop and storage rules, but also on the correct choice of planting material planted in the beds. When choosing young garlic for planting, pay attention to:

    1. The size of the teeth. Small, fused together slices signal the poor quality of the planting material.
    2. It is advisable to select local, zoned varieties, since they are better adapted to the surrounding conditions.
    3. Don't buy Chinese garlic. It is not suitable as a basis for planting.

    Landing rules

    How can you grow garlic on a windowsill? First of all, it is worth understanding the technology of planting a plant. Basically, special containers are chosen for this purpose. Firstly, it is much easier to care for such a plant. Secondly, such a container will protect the garlic from all kinds of parasites entering the ground. The depth of the container must be at least 20 cm. At the same time, there must be drainage holes in its lower part. Some farmers prefer to choose small individual containers for 1-2 cloves of garlic. But if you decide to plant them in one large container, keep in mind that the distance between the teeth should be at least 10 cm.

    How to ensure the process of planting garlic cloves in the ground, taking into account all the basic recommendations? First, mix the earth with sand. Fill a container with the mixture, leaving a free space of about 2 cm. Plant the garlic cloves (the pointed end should be at the top). When all the planting material is in the container, place it in a sunny place, for example, on a windowsill.

    Be sure to worry about the constant access of plants to light: garlic requires about 8 hours of sunlight per day. Another important point in the course of planting garlic at home is the presence of a stand. The container must certainly be placed on some kind of base, where excess water will drain. Knowing how to correctly plant garlic cloves in the ground, you will get a high yield and in winter you will be able to add the favorite spice-vitamins of domestic gardeners to your food.

    Sowing murray seeds at home

    The ripening period of Murraya seeds is 4 months. For planting, they need to be removed from the bush in time, without waiting for them to fall off themselves - then they will be overripe. The pulp can be eaten or simply removed, leaving the pit. The bones are washed with warm running water and kept in a fungicide or a weak solution of Bordeaux liquid for 8-10 hours.

    The seeds need to hatch before planting, therefore, immediately after soaking, they are placed on a damp foam rubber or a soft cloth and left until tiny sprouts appear. To germinate seeds, you can organize a "greenhouse" - place a layer of foam rubber in a plastic container and moisten it so that water protrudes slightly on its surface. Cover with a lid on top. The temperature for germination is 24-28 ° С.

    Important! This stage will allow you to select seeds with good germination. Seeds that have not given roots can be safely thrown away.

    After the seeds have sprouted, they are planted in cups with a damp substrate (you can use soil for citrus plants). Containers with seedlings are exposed under the phytolamp and covered with foil on top. Further watering is not required, because thanks to the film, the required humidity is retained in the glasses.

    Seedling care

    The cups do not open until the first sprout appears. After that, hardening begins - overnight the film rises by about half. Then the sprouts can be opened for the whole evening. Then you can begin to carefully water the seedlings from the sprayer. Before it starts, the slightly dried earth is gently loosened so that there are no voids in the glass.

    These sprouts are a little over 1 month old.

    The seedlings must be completely free from the shell. You can help them with this by gently removing it with tweezers. After that, the seedlings are re-installed under the lamp for further growth and development. After a month, they already have a few leaves. At the age of 3-4 months, Murraya grown from seeds may well bloom!

    Diseases and pests of the coconut tree and methods of dealing with them

    Potted coconut palms can be affected by pests: scale insects, spider mites, mealybugs, thrips. Preventive measures are wet wiping the leaves. Young plants are “bathed” in a warm solution of Persian chamomile or green soap, and after a while they are washed from them.

    Pest Control Measures:

    1. Scabbards and mealybugs are removed by mechanical cleaning with a hard sponge and soap, spraying with tobacco solution or actellik (1 ml per liter of water).
    2. A warm shower, a soapy solution, an infusion of citrus peel, or the same concentration of actellic helps with spider mites.
    3. When affected by powdery mildew, diseased plants are isolated and wet pollinated with sulfur powder, repeating the treatment after 10 days.
    4. They get rid of thrips and aphids by spraying 3% chlorophos or infusions of tobacco, ash.

    Home remedies are also effective: infusions of chamomile, mustard, potato tops, onions, garlic and others.Do them three times with weekly breaks.

    If the palm tree has been attacked by pests, the leaves are treated with special preparations.

    Excessive watering threatens fungal diseases:

    1. The yellowing of the crown is often an indicator of phytoplasmosis infection. In this case, diseased plants are destroyed.
    2. Black root rot, spotting, pink rot affect weakened plants. Leaves rot, shoots wither, trunk blackens, pink spores appear. Fungicides based on thiophanate or methyl help with diseases. Spraying with preparations is carried out with weekly breaks until the plants recover.
